CHARITY GOLF DAY FOR NICHS RAISES OVER £6000!!
Pinkertons were proud to be the title sponsor of Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke annual Charity Golf Day on
Wednesday 31st May. Clandeboye Golf Club kindly gave the use of the Dufferin Course for the day’s event.
Bathed in splendid sunshine the day began at 11.30am with the event reception which included bacon rolls, tea and coffee in preparation for the day of golf ahead. Suitably fed and watered the teams made their way to their allocated start points. The shot gun start was at 1pm (no injuries were reported). As always, the course was in splendid condition and proved a true test of golf.
By 6pm all teams had completed the course to varying degrees of success. Seated in the bar with stunning panoramic views over Bangor stories turned to what if’s and missed putts! Although these stories were entertaining thoughts soon turned to empty stomachs and the meal ahead. Yet again Clandeboye Golf Club did not disappoint and an excellent meal was had by all. The day’s events were rounded off by prize giving and a raffle.
All in all a great day was had with over £6000 being raised for Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke which will go towards enabling NICHS to deliver its much needed services as current statistics show that over 200,000 people in Northern Ireland are living with a chest, heart or stroke condition and these illnesses cause a staggering 40% of adult deaths – one in two.
Pinkertons would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part, supplied prizes and made donations.
We hope to see you all again next year.
